Asianet Middle East (ME) has announced the launch of Comedy Cooks, a new reality cooking show that blends culinary competition with unscripted humour for viewers in the UAE and wider Gulf region.
The programme will premiere on April 18, 2026, and air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 PM UAE time and 8 PM KSA time.
Described as a fresh take on reality entertainment, the show combines celebrity contestants with comedians, referred to as Comalis, who have little or no cooking experience. The format places participants in chaotic kitchen situations where humour and pressure unfold side by side.
According to the organisers, “As reality television evolves, modern audiences increasingly seek content prioritizing raw authenticity. Meeting this cultural shift, Asianet ME announces the premiere of Comedy Cooks.”
They added, “This reality cooking series debuts on 18th April 2026, airing every Saturday and Sunday at 9 PM UAE time and 8 PM KSA time. The series masterfully intersects high-stakes gastronomy with uncontrolled, unscripted humor.”
The show features Gizele Thakral as the Storekeeper, tasked with guarding the pantry and kitchen equipment, while anchor Twinkle leads the action with comic energy and audience engagement.
The judging panel includes actress Bhavana Menon and Chef Nalan, who will evaluate contestants’ dishes throughout the competition.
The contestant lineup includes Ansiba Hassan, Shabareesh Varma, Suchithra, Sabumon, Anumol, Hungry Mahi, Sandhya, Jio Joseph, Aevin-Kevin, Dain Davis, Meenakshi Raveendran, Aswin Vijayan, Nevin, Subin Tarzan and Sreevidhya Mullachery.
Asianet ME said the show will offer viewers “a vibrant world of personalities where every dish tells a story.” It added that Comedy Cooks would bring together “humor, heart, and unforgettable flavors,” making it a lively addition to the channel’s entertainment lineup.
