Communicate has heard that J. Walter Thompson Dubai’s has lost long standing client, Nike, last July. The Nike account is estimated to be worth $1.5 million.
According to our sources, the sports brand said at the time of the split they would maintain their account at J. Walter Thompson for six more months and then on a project basis; however rumor has it that advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy, that will open up shop in Dubai, could potentially take over the Nike account locally. This would make sense considering that currently, Wieden + Kennedy global holds the Nike account in most international markets where they have operations.
Formerly, J. Walter Thompson Dubai has worked on award winning Nike campaigns like “Nike Sticker Wall” in 2012, 2014’s “Winner Stays” and “Hypervenom”, and this year’s “LVL Up.”
More on this to come.
