Burgers were the most-ordered cuisine across the Middle East and North Africa this summer, while mango emerged as the region’s top flavour, according to delivery platform talabat.
The findings, based on food and grocery orders across Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates between June and August, showed changing consumer ordering patterns during the summer months.
Talabat said about 175,000 burgers were ordered each day across the region, equivalent to two burgers every second over the three-month period. Desserts and healthy options were also among the four most-ordered cuisine categories.
Mango was the top-selling summer flavour in all eight markets, although it appeared in different formats. It was most popular as juice in the UAE, Oman and Bahrain, nectar in Kuwait and Qatar, a sparkling drink in Jordan and ice cream in Iraq.
No other flavour ranked first in any of the eight markets, talabat said.
Iced coffee was the second-most ordered individual dish across the region, behind a chicken combo, while coffee overall ranked among the 10 most-ordered cuisines.
Ordering activity also shifted later into the evening, with orders rising sharply between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. and declining during the 4 pm to 6 pm period.
Egypt differed from the broader regional pattern, with its peak ordering hour recorded at 6 p.m.
The data was published as part of talabat’s Summer 2026 Trends, an infographic tracking food and grocery ordering behaviour across its eight MENA markets.
