Virgin Mobile Saudi Arabia has launched ‘Aman Plans’, describing them as the Kingdom’s first mobile plans to offer digital child protection directly at the network level.
The new service is designed to help families create a safer online environment for children without requiring parents to install additional applications or change device settings.
According to the company, the protection is built into the Virgin Mobile network and automatically blocks access to several social media platforms, including TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, X, Facebook, Threads and Discord, whenever the device is connected to the company’s mobile network.
The service also enables YouTube Restricted Mode in line with the platform’s global standards, helping reduce children’s exposure to inappropriate content while allowing access to age-appropriate educational and entertainment videos.
Virgin Mobile Saudi Arabia said the launch comes as smartphones have become an essential part of children’s lives for learning, communication and entertainment, increasing the need for solutions that balance digital access with online safety.
Unlike conventional parental control tools that rely on apps or device settings, the company said the new plans provide protection at the network level, making the restrictions more difficult to bypass or disable.
The company clarified that the service does not access users’ personal data or the contents of their devices. It neither deletes existing files nor monitors personal information. Instead, it blocks access to selected applications and prevents downloading new content through those platforms while the device is connected to the Virgin Mobile network.
The plans are available in two options. Aman 60 includes 10GB of data and 100 local minutes, while Aman 100 offers 30GB of data and 300 local minutes. Digital protection is included as part of both plans.
Virgin Mobile Saudi Arabia noted that the protection works only when customers are connected to its mobile network and is not available over Wi-Fi connections or while roaming internationally.
The company said the launch of Aman Plans aligns with Beyond ONE Saudi Arabia’s vision of offering telecommunications services that go beyond connectivity by supporting responsible technology use and enhancing digital safety for families.
It added that while the service provides advanced network-level content filtering, no digital protection technology can guarantee blocking all inappropriate online content because of the constantly evolving nature of the internet. The service is available exclusively through Virgin Mobile Saudi Arabia’s Aman Plans and is subject to the company’s terms and conditions.
