A new Arabic artificial intelligence platform designed for content creators has made its debut at the Creators Gathering opened in Dubai, highlighting the growing role of AI in shaping the region’s digital media landscape.

Ai Media Lab launched Risha.ai, describing it as the first integrated Arabic AI platform built specifically for content creators across the Middle East and North Africa, according to WAM.

The launch was one of the key announcements on the opening day of the Creators Gathering, held at Atlantis, The Palm, where more than 1,000 content creators, media professionals and industry experts convened to discuss the future of the Arab content economy.

Organised by Creators HQ, the UAE’s first dedicated creators’ hub, the event reflects the country’s broader efforts to establish itself as a regional centre for digital media innovation and creator-led industries.

Social Content Fund opens for applications

The event also opened applications for the Social Content Fund, an initiative launched earlier this year by Creators HQ and Alfan during the 1 Billion Followers Summit.

The fund is aimed at supporting creators producing socially impactful and high-quality content, part of a wider strategy to build a sustainable ecosystem for digital talent across the region.

AI adoption reshapes content creation

Speaking at the event, Khadija Hussain, Executive Director of Government Communication at the UAE Government Media Office, said the UAE views content creation as a vital component of the modern media landscape.

She said the rapid adoption of AI tools is transforming the sector, noting that artificial intelligence has increased content volume by 77%. Around 86% of creators now use generative AI tools, underscoring how quickly the technology has become embedded in creative workflows.

While new media has emerged as a primary force in shaping public awareness, she said, conventional media continues to retain its importance.

Creators confront burnout and ethical challenges

Beyond technological advances, discussions on the first day focused on the pressures facing creators in an increasingly competitive and algorithm-driven environment.

Panels examined mental health challenges, burnout and the demands of maintaining relevance on digital platforms. Speakers stressed the need for stronger support systems to ensure long-term career sustainability for creators.

Sessions also explored the creator’s evolving role during crises, with participants discussing how digital personalities are increasingly expected to act not only as publishers, but as socially responsible influencers.

Workshops build skills for the AI era

Parallel workshops provided practical training in emerging tools and production methods.

Experts from YouTube and TikTok led sessions on search and discovery algorithms, helping creators improve visibility and audience engagement.

Participants also received hands-on guidance in using Google’s Gemini for research and content generation.

Content creator Hashim Al-Ghaili hosted a masterclass on producing high-quality content without traditional camera equipment, while other sessions focused on advanced editing using CapCut and cinematic storytelling techniques for online video.

UAE strengthens regional creator ambitions

The Creators Gathering forms part of a broader UAE strategy to strengthen the Arabic content ecosystem and position the country as a leading hub for the creator economy.

By bringing together creators, platforms, policymakers and technology companies, the event aims to equip digital talent with the tools, funding and support needed to thrive in an industry being rapidly reshaped by artificial intelligence and evolving audience expectations.
