L’Oréal Middle East has signed the UAE Climate-Responsible Companies Pledge with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), reaffirming its commitment to the country’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy during the third L’Oréal For the Future Summit held in Dubai.

The summit, hosted at the company’s newly renovated Dubai office, brought together government representatives, sustainability experts, retail partners and industry leaders to discuss climate action, circular retail and inclusive beauty. The company said the signing of the pledge formally aligns its operations with the UAE’s national decarbonisation efforts and strengthens its participation in the country’s environmental agenda.

L’Oréal also highlighted its efforts to expand refillable beauty solutions through retail partnerships across the UAE. Building on its existing collaboration with BinSina Pharmacy, the company announced plans for additional partnerships aimed at making refillable products more accessible to consumers. The initiative covers products across makeup, skincare, haircare and fragrance categories and forms part of the company’s broader push towards a circular economy.

The summit also focused on social inclusion through technology. L’Oréal Middle East announced the donation of more than 30 units of the Lancôme HAPTA device to the Al Noor Training Centre. The handheld computerised makeup applicator is designed to assist individuals with hand-motion disorders and mobility challenges, enabling greater accessibility in beauty and personal care.

Laurent Duffier, Managing Director of L’Oréal Middle East, said: “Signing the UAE Climate-Responsible Companies Pledge shows our commitment to concretely contribute to the UAE’s ambitious sustainability agenda. Our continued expansion of circular retail and refillable options, building on our partnership with BinSina and with more announcements coming soon, is equally significant: they mean that sustainable beauty choices will be more accessible to more consumers across the UAE than ever before. We believe that the circular economy is not a future aspiration; we can — and have to — build it today.”

The company said the summit reflects its efforts to combine environmental responsibility with business growth, while advancing both climate action and inclusive innovation across the region.
