Dubai has intensified its global marketing and communications efforts to reinforce its reputation as a safe tourism and business hub despite security concerns arising from the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
The report said the emirate has launched a coordinated strategy combining promotional campaigns, business outreach and public messaging aimed at maintaining investor and tourist confidence.
Dubai’s official tourism social media accounts have continued to promote the city’s lifestyle, infrastructure and visitor experiences, highlighting stability and normalcy even as regional tensions persist, the WSJ reported.
Authorities have also urged residents and social media users to rely on official information sources and avoid spreading unverified content that could create unnecessary panic, the report said. Officials stressed that such measures are intended to ensure public safety and effective crisis communication.
Senior UAE leaders have also made public appearances to reassure residents and investors. According to the report, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was seen visiting Dubai Mall, while Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum met business leaders and expressed confidence in the country’s economic resilience.
The WSJ reported that Dubai’s economy — driven by tourism, real estate, aviation and global trade — depends heavily on its reputation as a stable international hub, making brand protection a key priority during periods of geopolitical uncertainty.
Businesses across the hospitality and leisure sectors are also supporting confidence-building efforts through promotional offers and staycation packages, while content creators continue to highlight Dubai’s active retail and entertainment spaces.
According to the report, Dubai has also built a strong network of global influencers and entrepreneurs through long-term residency programmes, including special visas for content creators and investors, which has helped strengthen its international brand narrative.
Despite some travel disruptions, officials and industry stakeholders remain optimistic about Dubai’s long-term economic outlook, citing strong infrastructure, crisis management capabilities and economic diversification, the report added.
The WSJ noted that Dubai’s rapid communications response reflects the importance the emirate places on protecting its global reputation as it navigates regional challenges.
