Disney+ will release a Saudi-dialect version of Toy Story 5 on October 6, featuring Saudi actors and content creators, alongside a redesigned app across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Announced at an event in Riyadh on September 30, the localized film will adapt the dialogue to Saudi language, humour and cultural references while retaining the original story and characters.

Ibrahim Al-Khairallah will voice Buzz Lightyear, Sohaib Quddus will play Woody and Reem Al-Habib will voice Jessie. Other cast members include Malik Nejer, Aseel Siraj and Yasser Al-Saggaf.

Al-Khairallah said the project offered an important opportunity for Saudi artists to contribute to internationally recognised productions.

The redesigned Disney+ app will introduce personalized recommendations, viewing access while travelling and enhanced parental controls. A new children’s section, called “Kids’ World”, will feature age-appropriate content, while PIN-protected profiles will help families restrict access to adult content.

Tamim Fares, head of Disney+ for MENA, said the changes were designed to reflect evolving viewing habits and provide a more family-friendly experience for audiences across the region.
