Twitter fights “revenge porn” with new policy
The social network is now prohibiting the posting of explicit photos or videos without the subject’s consent, in a list of new rules published in the private information section of Twitter Rules. Prototype of HTC Vive VR headset revealed
People were able to test the HTC’s Vive VR headset during the Mobile World Congress taking place in Barcelona and they reported a fully interactive experience. The Vive comes with a lot of equipment: two laser-tracking boxes, two nunchuk-like controllers and the headset cabled to a Windows PC. Xiaomi’s cam is GoPro’s new rival
GoPro has a serious competitor, the new action camera Yi designed by Chinese company Xiaomi at just $64, half the price of GoPro’s Hero device. Yi’s price, however, is not its most attractive feature. It incorporates a 16-megapixel Sony image sensor and can record 1080p video at 60fps while the GoPro Hero shoots 5-megapixel images and records 1080p videos at 30fps, or 720p video at 60fps. Lenovo was forced to remove a hidden adware, called Superfish, that was pre-installed on laptops and PCs after users expressed their anger. This hidden software that was injecting adverts on browsers using techniques similar to malware, according to experts, was raising questions on what kind of data was collected by the software.
