The MediaVantage, a UAE-based media sales representative, has won the exclusive contract to represent all titles published by News UK, a UK-based American-owned publisher, and a wholly owned subsidiary of the American mass media conglomerate News Corp. The MediaVantage won the contract following a multi-representative pitch and will handle the business from its Dubai headquarters. The contract awards The MediaVantage exclusive rights to sell advertising and commercial opportunities in The Times, The Sunday Times, TimesOnline.co.uk, and The Sunday Times Travel Magazine to clients and media agencies in the Middle East territory.
Manoj Khimji, managing director of The MediaVantage, says in a press statement, “We are delighted to have won this pitch and to add the News UK portfolio to our current roster of leading global media. The UK has been a mainstay of the UAE’s line up of important trade partners, and the coming years will see this increasing further. Within the team we are very familiar with News UK’s products, and we’re excited about sharing the commercial and advertising opportunities to clients and agencies here in the Middle East. The newsprint market around the world has been forced to innovate and think on its feet, and The Times & Sunday Times have certainly been able to stay ahead of the curve in terms of retaining and growing audiences.”
Dominic Carter, chief commercial officer, adds, “The Middle-East is an important market to us and we are committed to offering innovative and customized solutions to our clients. The MediaVantage impressed us with their knowledge, creative thinking and commitment to delivering best possible media solutions to the client base in the region. With this new alliance, we are convinced that we have found the right partners for this market to handle our commercial interests.”
News UK is home to some of the biggest and most popular British newspapers. According to the latest 2015 National Readership Survey (NRS), The Times is the only quality publication that has seen growth in their circulation figures during the past 12 months. The Sunday Times is also the leading Sunday quality newspaper with over a million readers each week, and its magazine is the highest-selling locally.
