Inside Rakbank’s Rebrand: ‘Scale With Soul’ as the New Banking Pitch

Rakbank has unveiled a new brand identity,  its most significant repositioning in over a decade, as the UAE lender looks to differentiate itself in an increasingly digital-first banking landscape.

The refresh includes a modernised logo inspired by the bank’s heritage, refined typography, a more human tone of voice and an enhanced app experience. But the bigger shift is strategic: Rakbank is positioning itself around the idea that technology alone isn’t enough to win customer trust.

Raheel Ahmed, Group Chief Executive Officer of Rakbank, said: “For 50 years, our brand has stood for trust, innovation and expertise. As we evolve, we are not just modernising how we look. We are rehumanising Rakbank itself. Our brand is not built by a logo. It is built by the way our people welcome, listen, care and take ownership every single day. It is shaped by 55 nationalities and five generations working together, united by a shared belief that banking must remain human. Technology gives speed, but people give confidence. When customers are buying their first home, growing a business or planning their wealth, they want both digital efficiency and human reassurance. They should never have to choose between the two. This evolution reflects who we are becoming. A bank that combines innovation with empathy. Scale with soul. Digital capability with deep human relationships. That is what Digital with a Human Touch means to us, and that is the standard we hold ourselves to for the next 50 years.”

The rebrand comes as Rakbank continues to scale its digital infrastructure,  its platforms have logged more than 50 million logins, and its in-app assistant, rai, now serves over 270,000 users. The bank has also processed over 350,000 student payments through its Skiply platform and disbursed 590,000+ microfinance loans.

For a bank built on a community-lending legacy, the new identity is designed to signal continuity as much as change — carrying that human-first positioning across SME, Wealth and Wholesale Banking as Rakbank leans further into AI and digital transformation.

The new visual identity will roll out across branches, cards, digital platforms and communications in the coming weeks.
