Saudi music entertainment company MDLBEAST has cancelled this year’s edition of its Soundstorm music festival in Riyadh, which was scheduled to take place in December.
The organisers announced the decision on Instagram, saying, “We know we said we’d see you at Soundstorm this year, so this is not the update we wanted to share. With regret, this year’s Soundstorm will not take place as planned.”
The seventh edition of the festival was scheduled for December 3 and 4 at Banban Grounds in Riyadh, with tickets already on sale. The organisers did not provide a reason for the cancellation.
“We will turn all our excitement and energy to the 2027 edition, and come back better and stronger,” they said.
Soundstorm was launched in 2019 and has featured international artists including Bruno Mars, Post Malone, Cardi B and DJ Khaled in previous editions.
The cancellation comes after the Red Sea International Film Festival also announced that its sixth edition, scheduled to take place in Jeddah from December 3 to 12, would not be held this year. The film festival is expected to return in late 2027.
