Arab News Editor-in-Chief Faisal J. Abbas has launched a new podcast, Arab Views, aimed at bringing greater regional context to conversations around the Middle East and its role in global affairs.

The podcast debuted with an interview with Prince Turki Al Faisal, Saudi Arabia’s former intelligence chief and former ambassador to the United Kingdom and the United States.

In the opening episode, Prince Turki discusses Saudi Arabia’s long-term foreign policy, its approach to balancing restraint with retaliation, and its relations with Iran. The conversation also examines conflicts in Yemen and other issues shaping the region.

Arab Views will feature interviews with influential figures from the Middle East, alongside international subject-matter experts, covering current affairs and some of the region’s most pressing political, economic and geopolitical questions.

The podcast is positioned as a platform for perspectives rooted in the region, while also bringing outside expertise into the conversation.

Prince Turki’s debut appearance offers a historical and policy-focused perspective on Saudi Arabia’s approach to regional conflicts and diplomacy, drawing on his experience at the centre of the Kingdom’s intelligence and foreign-policy establishment.

The launch comes as podcasts and other long-form digital formats increasingly provide media organisations with new ways to engage audiences beyond traditional news coverage, allowing prominent figures and experts to explore complex issues at greater length.

Through Arab Views, Abbas aims to create a forum for conversations that place regional developments within their wider historical and geopolitical context.
