As part of its ongoing expansion plans in the region – which included the launch of its RTB platform Amnet and media buying agency Vizeum earlier this year – Dentsu Aegis Network announced the launch of its ad agency Dentsu in the MEA region today. Reporting to Michel Nederlof, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network MENA, Koji Watanabe will lead Dentsu MEA as managing director, taking charge of account and product management for the agency’s clients in the 54 MEA markets in which it operates. Having been with the global network for 20 years, Watanabe joins Dentsu Aegis Network from Japan – he’s also previously worked with Dentsu Alpha in Vietnam as well as in the Philippines – and will grow Dentsu MEA’s client base with both local and Japanese brands expanding into the region.
