Emirati radio presenter Saif Abdulla of Radio 93 is taking his message of positivity beyond the airwaves, visiting schools and universities across the UAE through a voluntary initiative focused on youth mental wellbeing.

Initiative Brings Positive Voice Into UAE Classrooms

Abdulla’s initiative, The Positive Voice, aims to foster mental wellbeing, resilience and positivity among the next generation of leaders and supports the UAE National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031.

Amid pressure from peers, social media and academic expectations, the initiative gives students practical tools to overcome self-doubt and unlock their potential.

Abdulla’s interactive sessions address bullying, peer pressure and fear of failure while promoting confidence, kindness and leadership.

“If something I’ve learned through my own journey can make one young person believe in themselves a little more, then it’s worth sharing,” said Abdulla. “Sometimes one sentence at the right age can stay with somebody for years.”

The sessions move away from traditional lectures, combining storytelling with questions, activities, games and real-life scenarios.

Younger students explore confidence, kindness and standing up to bullying, while university students discuss identity, career choices, failure, leadership and the transition into professional life.

Abdulla, a certified motivational speaker and children’s author, draws on more than 14 years in broadcasting, stage hosting and public speaking, including presenting the Breakfast Club on Pearl FM.

Ruba Shadeed, principal of Al Ain American School, said Abdulla connected with students in a friendly, close and humorous way, making the session enjoyable, engaging and meaningful.

“A person like him can make a real difference in motivating students and helping them see their vision clearly as they build their future,” Shadeed said.

Radio Experience Reinforces Message To Young People

Abdulla delivers several sessions alongside his radio and events schedule, prioritising the depth of each session over the number of visits.

A 13-year-old girl recently contacted him to explain how his morning show had helped her feel stronger and less alone while she was facing bullying.

“At the time, I didn’t even know she was listening,” Abdulla said. “It reminded me that you will never know who needs your words. You may speak to hundreds of students, but if one student goes home believing in themselves more than they did that morning, that visit was worth it.”

The Positive Voice continues to contribute to the UAE’s vision of an empowered, confident and positive young generation.
