Red Bull has signed UAE cricketer Aayan Afzal Khan, a rising all-rounder who has made more than 75 international appearances and became the youngest player to compete in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Born and raised in Sharjah, Aayan made his international debut at a young age and has emerged as one of the UAE’s promising all-rounders, combining right-handed batting with left-arm orthodox spin.
His international record includes 38 One Day Internationals and 37 Twenty20 Internationals. He has represented the UAE at major competitions, including the T20 World Cup, where he became the tournament’s youngest participant.
One of his notable performances came against New Zealand, when he took three wickets for 20 runs and was named Player of the Match in a historic T20 international victory.
“Joining Red Bull means a lot to me. It’s a massive step forward in my journey,” Aayan said. He added that the partnership would motivate him to improve, perform at his best and represent the UAE with pride.
Aayan plays for the UAE national team and franchise sides including the Gulf Giants, Deccan Gladiators and Montreal Tigers. He has also been selected for the Dubai Capitals for the upcoming International League T20 season, which begins on November 21 and will be played in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
The Dubai Capitals squad includes international players such as Rovman Powell, Marcus Stoinis, Phil Salt and Mustafizur Rahman. Aayan has also secured a place in this season’s Abu Dhabi T10 tournament, scheduled to run from November 7 to 20.
Aayan has said he aims to play in the Indian Premier League and become the world’s leading T20 all-rounder.
Red Bull said the signing reflected its commitment to supporting emerging athletes and helping them develop their careers on regional and international stages.
