Coursera has appointed Amy Weisenbach, former chief marketing officer of The New York Times, as its chief marketing officer, effective November 30, 2026.
Weisenbach most recently led marketing across The New York Times’ portfolio, including News, Games, Cooking, Audio, Wirecutter and The Athletic. She helped drive audience growth, engagement and subscription revenue as the company expanded its digital business.
Before joining The New York Times, she held global marketing roles at Wilson Sporting Goods, Beam Suntory and Unilever. She has also taught brand strategy and consumer behaviour as an adjunct assistant professor at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Weisenbach holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in public policy from DePauw University.
Her appointment comes as Coursera prepares to bring its business together with Udemy, with the company aiming to expand access to online learning and skills development.
