Al-Futtaim has launched the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ in the UAE, expanding the Land Cruiser lineup with a compact SUV designed for both urban driving and off-road use.

Announced on October 12, the Land Cruiser FJ joins the Land Cruiser 300, Land Cruiser 70 and Land Cruiser Prado. Developed under the concept of “Freedom & Joy,” the new model combines the brand’s traditional off-road capabilities with a smaller footprint and improved manoeuvrability.

“At Al-Futtaim, our mission is always to deliver vehicles to our customers that enhance their lives and offer the opportunity to do more, see more and achieve more each and every day,” said Jacques Brent, managing director of Al-Futtaim Toyota.

“The Land Cruiser FJ represents a ‘Core’ Land Cruiser that provides freedom and joy for people from all walks of life,” he added.

The vehicle will be available in two grades in the UAE: EXR and GXR. It features a naturally aspirated 2.7-litre petrol engine producing 164 hp and 245 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a part-time four-wheel-drive system.

With a wheelbase of 2,580 mm, the Land Cruiser FJ is 270 mm shorter than the Land Cruiser Prado. Its minimum turning radius of 5.5 metres is designed to make manoeuvring easier in urban environments and on narrow off-road trails.

The five-seat vehicle offers 765 litres of luggage capacity with the rear seats in use. Folding the seats increases the capacity to 1,522 litres. The second-row seats can also slide, recline and fold to accommodate different passenger and cargo requirements.

Safety features on the GXR grade include Toyota Safety Sense 3, with systems such as Pre-Collision Safety and Lane Departure Alert. The grade also offers a Panoramic View Monitor and Blind Spot Monitor. Both grades come with a 12.3-inch display audio system featuring wireless Apple CarPlay.

The exterior includes U-shaped headlamps and rear combination lamps, a rear-mounted spare tyre and roof rails. Customers can choose from five exterior colours: White Pearl, Ash, Black, Bronze and Smoky Blue. The EXR comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, while the GXR features 18-inch wheels.

“By providing drivers with solid Land Cruiser off-road performance in a more accessible package, this model gives more of our customers than ever the freedom to go wherever they want, whatever their lifestyle, together with the joy of using the vehicle in their own way,” Brent said.
