Media agency Initiative MENA has announced the addition of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in the Middle East to its portfolio of clients. The agency has won the social management and paid social advertising activities for the GCC region, focusing on the UAE, KSA, and Qatar as core markets.
Initiative MENA has been tasked with raising awareness about Singapore as a leisure and tourism destination for Middle East-based tourists through the promotion of the wide range of cultural, shopping and tourism opportunities that the Asian country has to offer.
Sharing his views on Initiative’s latest social media win, Ziad Ghorayeb, MENA head of digital, says in a press statement: “Our network strength and team spirit helped secure yet another key social media win, continuing what has already been a hugely successful year for the team. We believe that our ears-to-[the]-ground approach and our understanding of social media will help us make a significant contribution to raise awareness [about] Singapore tourism and help STB achieve their business goals.”
“Singapore’s 50th anniversary falling in 2015 gives us a real opportunity to push the boundaries in terms of content and executions around a key milestone in Singapore’s history. Our proposal to STB during the pitch process was built on unique insights about travelers from the Middle East and we’re looking forward to putting those plans into action over the next 12 months and beyond,” adds Mazher Abidi, head of social media, Initiative MENA.
Mohamed Firhan Abdul Salam, area director at STB Middle East and Africa, says: “We are pleased to join forces with Initiative MENA and look forward to a long-lasting and collaborative relationship. Social media is one of the key platforms for STB to engage with visitors and cultivate an active community of advocates for Singapore. Initiative has innovative digital ideas as well as an experienced team and we felt that Initiative would be our trusted strategic partner on this journey.”
