Reddit has rolled out a new artificial intelligence-powered advertising tool designed to give marketers a clearer view of who is engaging with their campaigns, as platforms increasingly use AI to unlock insights from user-generated content.
The social media company said the feature, called Top Audience Personas, uses machine learning to analyze conversations across Reddit and group users into audience segments based on interests such as parenting, home cooking or travel. The tool is being launched in beta as part of Reddit’s new automated ad offering, Max, according to MediaPost.
The move comes as technology companies showcase AI-driven tools at the CES technology conference in Las Vegas, where analyzing authentic online conversations has emerged as a key theme. For Reddit, whose platform hosts more than 23 billion posts and comments, AI allows advertisers to access data signals that were previously difficult to interpret.
Top Audience Personas combines campaign performance data with what Reddit calls its Community Intelligence, turning discussion threads into structured insights that show which audience types are viewing and interacting with ads, the company said.
“We’re not just making ad management faster, we’re making it smarter and tailored to our community,” Jyoti Vaidee, Reddit’s vice president of ads product, said in a company blog post.
The personas are available within Reddit’s new Max ad platform, which automates budget allocation, targeting, creative selection and placement based on AI analysis aimed at improving performance. The platform also offers automated headline suggestions drawn from trending language on Reddit, as well as automatic thumbnail generation, features intended to reduce manual campaign management and lower costs.
Reddit said advertisers will retain control over their campaigns despite the increased use of automation.
In early tests comparing Max campaigns with advertisers’ existing approaches, Reddit said it saw an average 17 percent reduction in cost per acquisition and a 27 percent increase in conversions. US footwear brand Brooks Running recorded a 37 percent drop in cost per click and a 27 percent increase in clicks during a 21-day Max campaign without making manual adjustments, the company said.
The rollout underscores a broader shift among advertising platforms toward AI-driven tools that go beyond personalization, using large-scale conversational data to redefine how audiences are identified and targeted.
Reddit has been expanding its advertising footprint in the MENA region over the past year through partnerships designed to bring its community-driven ad solutions to local markets. In late 2025, Reddit extended a strategic agreement with Aleph, a digital media network, naming it the company’s exclusive advertising representative in more than 45 markets including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt. The deal is intended to help local advertisers leverage Reddit’s highly engaged communities and “authentic conversations” to drive campaign performance.
