CES 2026: Las Vegas set to host the world’s biggest tech curtain-raiser of the year

CES 2026 is poised to kick off the global technology calendar as the world’s largest consumer electronics trade show returns to Las Vegas in early January. The annual event will run from January 6 to January 9, with a packed schedule of keynotes, product launches, and industry briefings beginning several days earlier.

Often seen as a barometer for the year ahead, CES brings together the world’s leading technology companies to unveil new devices, processors, display technologies and long-term roadmaps. This year’s edition is expected to place a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence, next-generation computing, advanced displays, and connected home technologies.

With its $13.5 billion acquisition of Interpublic Group now complete, CES 2026 — scheduled for January 6–9 in Las Vegas — marks the first major moment for Omnicom Group to demonstrate the scale and capabilities of the newly combined organisation.

The event also represents Omnicom’s first appearance as a single, unified brand, moving away from the agency-by-agency presence that characterised its participation in previous years.

Keynotes and early announcements

The CES week will begin on Sunday, January 4, when Samsung hosts its traditional “First Look” presentation. TM Roh, head of Samsung’s Device Experience division, is expected to outline the company’s strategy for 2026, with a focus on expanding AI integration across consumer devices and services.

The pace will accelerate on Monday, January 5, one of the busiest days of the show. LG will present its technology roadmap in a morning session, followed by Intel’s announcement of its new Core Ultra Series 3 processors, based on the Panther Lake platform. Sony Honda Mobility is also scheduled to provide updates on its first electric vehicle project.

Later in the day, AMD chief executive Lisa Su will deliver a keynote centred on upcoming chip releases, while NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is set to take the stage to discuss the company’s advances in computing, graphics and artificial intelligence.

On January 6, Lenovo CEO Yuanqing Yang will host Lenovo’s Tech World event at the Las Vegas Sphere, where the company is expected to detail its broader AI-led strategy across personal and enterprise computing.

Displays and smart home technology in focus

Display innovation is once again expected to be a major theme at CES 2026. LG has already announced plans to debut its first Micro RGB television, alongside new high-resolution gaming monitors featuring built-in image processing tools. The company will also showcase a modular home audio system and a home automation robot designed for connected living environments.

Samsung, meanwhile, has confirmed a broader lineup of Micro RGB televisions in multiple sizes, expanded Odyssey gaming displays, and new audio products supporting wireless streaming.

Other major television manufacturers are also expected to highlight advances in brightness, colour accuracy and energy efficiency, while Sony may use the event to spotlight new display technologies or gaming-focused screens linked to the PlayStation ecosystem.

Chips and next-generation computing

CES has traditionally served as a launchpad for new processors, and 2026 is no exception. AMD is expected to reveal updates to its Ryzen lineup across desktop and integrated graphics segments. Intel’s Panther Lake-based Core Ultra Series 3 chips are likely to target high-end laptops, while Qualcomm is expected to strengthen its push into the PC market with new Snapdragon-powered laptops.

Dates to watch

CES 2026 officially runs from January 6 to January 9, but side events, private briefings and media previews will begin as early as January 3. With major announcements clustered around January 5 and 6, the event is set to offer an early glimpse into the technologies and trends that will shape the year ahead.
