The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is seeking a public relations and social media agency to support its marketing activities in the Middle East, according to a tender notice issued on Friday.
The contract will run for one year, from April 2026 to April 2027, and will cover regional PR and social media services aimed at boosting visitor arrivals to Hong Kong.
Interested agencies have been asked to submit an expression of interest by Feb. 19, including company credentials, confirmation of eligibility and contact details. Applicants must hold valid business registrations in Gulf Cooperation Council countries and maintain headquarters and a core team in Dubai. The dedicated account team must include at least three full-time staff: a director, a manager and an executive.
HKTB said agencies currently working with national tourism organisations, airlines, hotels, attractions or destination management companies from Asia-Pacific markets, including Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia, would not be eligible to apply, according to Marketing-Interactive.
The Middle East has become an increasingly important source market for Hong Kong’s tourism sector as the city seeks to diversify visitor arrivals.
During a visit to Dubai last year, Hong Kong’s Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rosanna Law Shuk-pui, highlighted efforts to position the city as a Muslim-friendly destination and to strengthen ties with regional partners.
Law also met Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi to discuss opportunities to develop major sporting events and expand the role of sports in economic growth and community engagement.
In 2024, the tourism board launched initiatives targeting countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, as part of a broader strategy to increase visitor numbers from the region.
