Qatar Airways has unveiled its first digital destination, QVerse Island, on the gaming platform Fortnite, allowing users to explore Doha through an immersive virtual experience.
The interactive island recreates key landmarks of the Qatari capital, including Hamad International Airport and select onboard experiences. Players begin their journey at the airport, where they are welcomed by Sama, the airline’s digital cabin crew avatar, before exploring destinations such as The ORCHARD.
The experience includes mission-based challenges and hidden “golden tickets” that give players a chance to unlock travel-related rewards, including flights.
Sama, who already features across Qatar Airways’ digital platforms, serves as a guide throughout the virtual island, extending the airline’s brand presence into the gaming world. The initiative is designed to engage potential travellers in a digital environment well before they book a trip, combining entertainment with real-world incentives.
The launch forms part of the airline’s broader digital push. Qatar Airways recently expanded its fleet-wide Starlink rollout, offering high-speed Wi-Fi of up to 500 Mbps on more than 120 aircraft. The airline said the combined initiatives aim to deliver a more connected and technology-driven travel experience.
