Hilton Dubai Jumeirah and Hilton Dubai The Walk have officially implemented the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative, strengthening their shared commitment to inclusive hospitality and accessibility.
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a globally recognised symbol that allows individuals with non-apparent conditions – such as anxiety, autism, sensory challenges or chronic pain—to discreetly signal that they may need additional support, patience, or time. Guests can choose to wear a green Sunflower lanyard, badge, or bracelet, available free of charge at the concierge or front desk.
At Hilton Dubai Jumeirah and Hilton Dubai The Walk, all frontline team members have completed specialised training to better understand how to identify and respond to the Sunflower symbol with empathy and discretion. Trained team members wear a white “Sunflower Supporter” badge to signal their readiness to offer support when needed. To raise awareness, educational posters and materials are displayed in key guest areas and Sunflower items are readily available for any guest or team member who may wish to wear them. This ensures a discreet and respectful way of communicating needs, and allows team members to offer thoughtful gestures such as allowing more time, using clear language, or simply providing a warm, understanding approach – without the need for explanations or intrusive questions.
Hilton Dubai Jumeirah and Hilton Dubai The Walk also take pride in being among the first two Hilton hotels in the country to be certified by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). In partnership with Dubai Economy and Tourism, this certification enhances accessibility and improves the overall guest experience for travelers with diverse needs.
As part of a business built on people serving people, the goal is to ensure that every guest -regardless of visible or non-visible challenges – feels seen, respected and supported during their stay.
Hilton Dubai Jumeirah and Hilton Dubai The Walk invite all guests to engage with the programme and join in the effort to make invisible disabilities visible.
