DEWA named sustainability partner of Arab Media Summit 2026

The summit, organized by the Dubai Press Club, will be held from March 31 to April 2 at Dubai World Trade Centre and is expected to attract more than 8,000 media professionals and industry stakeholders from across the Arab world and beyond.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been named the strategic sustainability partner for the 2026 Arab Media Summit, organizers said on Thursday, as the emirate seeks to highlight sustainability initiatives and the media’s role in supporting the transition to a green economy.

The summit, organized by the Dubai Press Club, will be held from March 31 to April 2 at Dubai World Trade Centre and is expected to attract more than 8,000 media professionals and industry stakeholders from across the Arab world and beyond.

The 2026 edition will be the largest since the launch of the Arab Media Forum in 2001 and will include forums, workshops and industry sessions covering a range of media sectors.

Held under the patronage of Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and under the directives of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the event will bring together senior political and economic officials, media executives, editors, writers and content creators.

Organizers said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation in the media sector and aligns with the summit’s focus on examining the role of media in advancing sustainable development across the Arab region.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and chief executive of DEWA, said the event would provide an opportunity to highlight the utility’s sustainability initiatives and efforts to support Dubai’s economic agenda and energy transition.

“The media plays a central role in shaping informed public discourse and strengthening awareness of sustainability and environmental responsibility,” Al Tayer said.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, vice chairperson and managing director of the Dubai Media Council and president of the Dubai Press Club, said the partnership reflects cooperation among national institutions in advancing sustainability and climate-neutrality goals.

She said the collaboration would help strengthen awareness of responsible consumption and environmental priorities while reinforcing the media’s role in supporting development objectives.
