On MENA level, Spotify have shared “Culture Next” which was a study with lifestyle bloggers from around the region to understand their insights. The study looks at Gen Z and Millennials. It was in partnership with research agency Culture Co-Op. The report outlined five trends including but not limited trends such as band of others and expressing their feelings.
“Members of Gen Z are in touch with their feelings, and they understand the importance of expressing and addressing them,” the report said.
Spotify has launched its streaming services in MENA last year is an example of collaboration with Spotify. The company has been the first brand to integrate with Spotify in the MENA region. “Through a microsite, the collaboration recommended TV shows and movies from the Starzplay platform based on users’ music streaming behavior,” Spotify said. The company added that by analyzing and studying users listening activity on the music app and what playlists, songs and artists they stream the most, “The integration connected fans with shows which match their streaming experience.”
To understand more about Spotifys’ role in the region, we spoke to Marco Bertozzi, vice president of EMEA sales. Bertozzi’s current role is to oversee Spotify’s advertising revenue throughout the region.
