Icflix – the region’s Netflix – has collaborated with du, which enables customers to subscribe directly from their phone, eliminating the need for a credit card. The subscription fee will be charged to their monthly mobile bill or prepaid credit from du. This makes the transaction secure, as payment details will not be shared, while customers without credit cards are free to use the paid-for service.

The icflix service enables customer to watch movies, TV shows, cartoons and documentaries on any internet-enabled device for AED 29 per month. Subscribers will get complete access to icflix’s comprehensive portfolio, which includes Jazwood (Arabic content) and, Hollywood and Bollywood movies.

As a launch offer, icflix is granting customers who subscribe via their du mobile Direct Operator Billing a one-month subscription free of charge for a limited time period. The newly announced collaboration is the beginning of a wider partnership between du and icflix, which will continue to offer customers of both companies more added value services, promotions and more.

Carlos Tibi, CEO and co-founder of icflix, says in a press statement: “Our partnership with du opens up icflix content to an entirely new audience, by offering mobile customers an exciting, everywhere viewing experience through a simple subscription process straight from their mobile phone”.

Fahad AlHassawi, chief commercial officer, du, adds: “As our screens increasingly converge with content available across television, tablets and, most importantly, mobile, the ability to watch what, when and where we want is ever more important. In partnering with icflix we are opening up an entirely new avenue of viewing choice for our customers, empowering a true TV Anywhere experience powered by our seamless connectivity”.
