The award cited AlShehhi’s career-long role in advancing government communications and digital media through innovative approaches.
Khaled AlShehhi, executive director of marketing and communications at the UAE Government Media Office, was awarded the Digital Leadership Award at the MENA Digital Awards, organizers said on Sunday.
AlShehhi received the honor during a ceremony held alongside the Digital Media Forum in Dubai, which recognizes individuals and organizations that have made lasting contributions to the region’s digital media sector.
The award cited AlShehhi’s career-long role in advancing government communications and digital media through innovative approaches that combine creativity with social impact, while promoting the UAE’s development vision and humanitarian message on regional and global platforms.
Organizers said AlShehhi has helped set new standards in government communications by leveraging digital tools and creative strategies to strengthen public engagement and enhance the UAE’s international media profile.
A video highlighting key milestones in his career was screened during the ceremony, underscoring his influence on the region’s digital media ecosystem and his leadership in redefining creativity within the public sector.
The award was presented by Najla Semaan Mazboudi, founder and managing director of SpotOn Media Services and the MENA Digital Awards, along with Ahmad Itani, founder and chief executive of Cicero & Bernay Communication Consultancy.
AlShehhi has received several local and international accolades. In a landmark first, he was selected by the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity as the first representative from the government sector worldwide to serve on its jury, a move organizers said reflected the UAE’s growing prominence in global media and government communications.
Launched in 2014, the MENA Digital Awards is a regional platform that recognizes innovation and excellence in digital media across the Middle East and North Africa, and aims to highlight individuals and organizations shaping the future of the communications industry.
