Y&R restructures Middle East operations

David Sable, global CEO of Y&R, has announced a restructuring of Y&R’s Middle East operations. Joseph Ghossoub, who is the CEO of MENA Communications (a subsidiary of WPP’S Y&R Group), will take on the interim role of chairman and CEO of Y&R MENA as Y&R enlarges and diversifies its offering in the region .The announcement follows the departure of Nagib Badreddine as CEO of Y&R MENA. Nadine Ghossoub, who was acting CEO in the interim , will leverage Dubai as the hub of the region

“There is opportunity in the Middle East — for our clients and, in turn, for Y&R. And there is no one better than Joe in whom to trust our future as we drive our shopper marketing capabilities, expand our digital capabilities through our VML offering, and recommit to leveraging our proprietary BrandAsset® Valuator, the world’s largest global database of consumer perceptions of brands,” said Sable.

“For the important strategy we have committed to in the Middle East, Joe is unequivocally the most qualified to help us shape our future. He is without peer in the industry there and we are honored that he will take this interim role inleading Y&R regionally,” he added.

Under Nadine Ghossoub’s leadership as managing director, Y&R has been named Agency of the Year for three consecutive years in a row at Dubai Lynx. Last year at Cannes, Y&R Dubai also made history by winning 14 Lions in a single year, which put the agency in the top rankings at Cannes for the year.

“Nadine is an essential part of our future growth. With her strong strategic expertise as well as her proven account management experience, she has transformed the Dubai agency into the creative powerhouse it is today,” said Sable.  “Having made Y&R the undisputed creative leader in the market, we are confident that the momentum created in Dubai will translate into greater growth for Y&R across the region,” he added.
