Hotels in the UAE are targeting residents of the country with special discounts and offers.
While most tourist spots – and sometimes hotels – have special rates for UAE or GCC residents, there has been an increase in hoteliers offering such packages during Ramadan.
One such brand is Jumeirah Group. “This Ramadan as a UAE resident, you can save up to 30% off your stay all round the year at Jumeirah’s luxury hotels and resorts,” it says. The discount is valid on hotel stays as well as entry to Wild Wadi waterpark and special suhoor and iftar deals.
Similarly, Fairmont has also introduced a 20% off for the summer (only on weekends) especially for UAE residents.
While Jumeirah’s offer focuses on Ramadan, Fairmont’s is valid all throughout summer. The former’s is an interesting move considering that residents only travel after Eid, according to Criteo data. Fairmont’s, on the other hand, might be a bid to lure visitors to the hotel in Dubai versus traveling outside.
Other hotels in the UAE also offer special resident offers, but there is no time limit mentioned.
