In an effort to capture the nation’s pride for UAE’s 44th National Day, du launches a social media competition inviting users to upload a drawing, poem or video about why #UAEisHome onto du’s social media platforms (www.facebook.com/du, www.instagram.com/du and www.twitter.com/dutweets).
In addition to the social media initiative, du released a #UAEisHome video addressing the diversity that expands across the UAE. The activation and filming took place across Dubai, where more than 200 participants were eligible for prizes.
Khaled bin Hamad, founder and owner of Moving Reflection Productions, an Emirati animation production house, said in a press release, “Being part of a campaign as interesting as #UAEisHome on the occasion of National Day is a blessing. The [holiday] is best celebrated through giving back to the country that we belong to and which has always helped us thrive and excel. You can’t help but feel the UAE pride when you see the final video. It’s an experience I will personally never forget or hesitate to do again.”
Emirati TV presenter, stand-up comedian and actor, Abdullah Al Qassab, added, “Celebrating National Day should always be a special occasion in which we share our true love for the nation. Through participating in this campaign, we are sharing the blessings we have bestowed upon us and this is what makes being part of #UAEisHome an ideal platform to thank our country and express our love to it.”
Winners of the social media competition, which runs from November 28 until December 4, will be announced on December 6. The contest’s terms and conditions are available at http://www.du.ae/national-day.
