FP7 MENA has promoted general manager Amr El Kalaawy to the position of managing director of FP7/CAI effective immediately. Kalaawy will report to Sahar El Zoghby, CEO, MCN Egypt.
Kalaawy has almost 20 years of experience in the advertising industry in Egypt covering almost each and every business category – 11 of which have been with FP7/CAI. Prior to joining FP7/CAI in 2007 business unit head, he was with Tarek Nour Communication Group and TBWA\Egypt.
Under his leadership, FP7/CAI has “enjoyed a reputation of being a superincumbent with the largest in-house digital offering in the country,” says the agency in a statement, in addition to being named by Effie MENA as the Effective Agency in Egypt for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017.
Kalaawy says: “I look forward to expanding FP7/CAI’s business and leveraging our relationship with our sister agencies within MCN Holding as we look to help clients exploit the changes we are seeing in today’s dynamic & digital market.”
“Amr has made a transformational contribution to the agency’s stature in the market in the past few years, getting the agency crowned at the Effie’s as being The Most Effective Agency in Egypt and Second Most Effective agency in the MENA region 2 years in a row. He has also been able to evolve the agency and establish it as a key player on the exponentially growing digital side of our industry having a very respectable roster of clients, as digitally-led,” says Zoghby, CEO, MCN Egypt.
Momentum/CAI, on the other hand, has promoted Lina Fateen from deputy managing director to managing director.
Prior to joining FP7/CAI in 2002, Fateen has worked with J. Walter Thompson and Leo Burnett. Her first role with FP7/CAI in 2002 was as an account director. She then became deputy MD of Momentum in 2016, where she was tasked to re-launch the agency as a fully independent brand experience agency.
In her new role, she will report to Sahar El Zoghby, CEO, MCN Egypt.
Her remit will be to lead her team to produce award-winning work to drive clients’ business forward while building a brand reputation and setting standards of excellence for future openings of Momentum across the MCN network.
Fateen says, “My career at MCN has been a fantastic journey of valuable insights and experiences enabling me to build and foster a successful organization with the right people here at Momentum/CAI. And now with the continued opportunity to lead this company, I am excited to unravel the next steps in developing strong synergies with our clients for further award-winning success.”
Sahar Zoghby, CEO, MCN Egypt, adds, “Lina relaunched Momentum successfully, in less than 2 years to become a serious contender in the advertising industry competing with the top agencies and winning beating them. She has also earned her agency prestigious creative recognition while developing some of the best talents to achieve her business objectives.”
