Huawei and Nancy Ajram launch ‘Huawei Be The Star’ competition

Huawei launches an online competition giving fans a chance to meet and sing with Arabic superstar, Nancy Ajram, live on stage. “Huawei Be The Star” contest allows participants to enter the singing competition by uploading their recorded video to a website. Huawei aims through this campaign, in cooperation with Nancy, to leverage its engagement with communities in the MENA region, as well as encouraging singers across the region to reveal their talents.

Talents are encouraged to submit a clip of them singing along to Nancy Ajram’s “Nam Bi Albi” before May 2, 2015 at the dedicated website for the competition (www.huaweibethestar.com) for a chance to win.

Once videos are submitted, the top ten videos with the most Facebook likes will move on to the second round. The final five will face-off in Dubai in a live finale, judged by Nancy Ajram and panel, where the winner will sing live with her on stage, at the end of May.

In addition to meeting regional icon Nancy Ajram, Huawei will be giving the winning contestant $25,000 worth of gold. Additionally, throughout the competition, weekly winners will receive Huawei’s new Ascend Mate 7 Smartphone. These winners will be selected based on the highest number of weekly votes they receive.

Nancy Ajram says in a press statement, “I am looking forward to seeing the talent across the region as potential singers upload their videos on the website of the competition ‘Huawei Be The Star’. I am very excited to be a part of this initiative and I can’t wait to meet the final 5 contestants in Dubai. Good luck everyone!”
