Behind Tide’s Super Bowl ad

The Super Bowl is a well know destination for advertisers. Millions are watching so advertisers pull their stunts and pay hefty amounts of money to reach the largest audience. That’s why P&G has teamed up with Saatchi & Saatchi New York for this Super Bowl ad that is winning audiences over. Starring David Harbour from Stranger Things, the ad is a parody of every other super bowl ad cliché.

Till date, it has 4,748,658 views on YouTube.

The simple idea shows Harbour in every ad cliché, such as cars, beverage, insurance, or a fun beer ad. But, the main idea behind it is the tagline: “Every time you see clean clothes, it’s a Tide ad”.

This tagline brings Tide into every other Super Bowl ad. It works because it’s funny, and it’s funny because it’s true.
