Hosted by Havas Worldwide Middle East in partnership with Communicate magazine, Portfolio Night, an event connecting aspiring young copywriters, art directors, and designers with regional creative directors and leaders, will take place on May 21. The event will be held under the sponsorship of iStockphoto, Pantone, and VCU Brandcenter.
In a speed-pitching format, the event features a series of rounds where the young talents are given five minutes with each of the creative directors to get some face time with them, as well as showcase, review, hone, and polish their work and portfolios, and receive professional and career advice . As such, the event will be opening employment and recruitment opportunities for the regional industry. Moreover, the event will host a one-hour workshop by a top global creative director.
The event will be capped with the creative jury’s selection of one student who has the best portfolio, and who will represent Dubai at Portfolio Night’s “All-Stars” event in New York in August 2014.
Since its inception 11 years ago, Portfolio Night has grown to become a global event, reaching creative hubs across continent, and spanning so far 64 cities and 37 countries. Nearly 13,000 aspiring and young talents within the advertising industry, and over 1,300 creative have participated in Portfolio Night over the past years.
